I started visiting the south Attleboro branch library when my children went to Hill Roberts school and when that closed went to the Attleboro branch. Now that I am wheel chair bound I use my computer to get books online and to order large print books which my daughter picks up for me each week at the library. I read constantly, sometimes 3 books at a time. I don't know what I would do without my library.

I go to college in Amherst and, while I love my college, it's fiction selection is limited. The Jones Library has given me access to the books I'd have at my hometown library. It gives me a reason to get off campus and see something that isn't the concrete and bricks builds I'm constantly surrounded by. I've borrowed so many of my course books, as an English major, through this library, saving me hundreds of dollars in just a couple years. The library truly is a life saver for me.

Attleboro Public Library has given me so much in the years I've lived here. It allowed me to explore books to my heart's content from kindergarten onward. It gave me the volunteer hours I needed to join the National Honors Society and graduate high school. It's even given me a quiet place to finish my final essays at the end of each college semester, away from the distractions at home. The library has always been my place to escape and find some peace and quiet when I've needed it. It allowed me to work on my social anxiety through exposure therapy in high school. The library has been so many things for me over the years and as someone pursuing an English degree, I can't imagine who I'd be without it. I'm really hoping, one day, a book or two I've written will end up on those shelves and someone else will find solace there like I have for so long.

The library made me into a reader. It helped open my world view, made me empathetic and encouraged my curiosity. I also believe the library played a vital role in pushing me to become an English Language Arts teacher so I could foster a love of reading and books in the next generation, just like library did for me!

There is so much to love about public libraries: the vast topics that can be learned about, programming, and fostering multi-generational time. Inter-library loans brings all the books in the region to me. Plus Libby is one more learning method

We need our local library as it allows us access to all sorts of both entertainment and learning. We also visit with our two year old daughter because she loves it there. We find all sorts of books to read with her including ones to help talk about important things. My personal favorite thing about the library is the programs that are put on, as well as the wonderful interactions I have when looking for CDs or a cook book.

My whole family loves our local library! My 8-year-old stepdaughter discovered her love of reading by sitting on the floor in the children's section reading Elephant & Piggy books. I love being able to read recently released books and learn new crafting skills like embroidery. My husband loves being able to check out board games. The Natick Library has something for everyone and we want it to stay that way!

Our local libraries have been so important to our family from the moment our children were born. We spent time in the library every week, taking advantage of toddler time, the comfy picture book room, and the toys and other activities. It was a wonderful low-stakes, no-cost outing. Now my kids are 13 and 10, and they still beg to go to the library. I know exactly what my book limit is because we've hit it multiple times. We also take advantage of programs when we can, like the escape room, science presentations, puppet shows, and book sales. We have visited just about every public library in the Pioneer Valley, but our "home" library has always been Meekins in Williamsburg. The librarians know the kids by name, and my children feel totally comfortable walking up to the circulation desk to ask for help finding a book. The librarians always take an interest in the books that the kids are reaching and have ordered books specially when our recommendations are not on the shelves. I can't communicate how much our public library system has meant to us over the last 13+ years.

Seventy years ago, when I was in high school, I came into Boston to do research for my term papers at the BPL in Copley Square. Now that I'm an old lady, I'm happy to live about a block from the Roslindale branch, where I can pick up novels I've put on hold, saving me from traveling to the branches where they are shelved; enjoy the art exhibits on display in the meeting room; smile at the little kids who have come for storytime with Miss Celeste; and help the Friends of the Library organize the used book sales. The BPL has been a significant part of my life for a long time!
